Story

Last Tuesday, September 10, we had our first house event of the school year. The main goal was for students to get to know each other better and start building connections as we explored possible buddy combinations.

During the activity, students interacted through reading or listening to stories, creating a warm, supportive atmosphere. The G3 to G5 students were the big buddies, while G2 students were the middle buddies. The youngest ones, from K1 to G1, became the little buddies.

It was amazing to see how the kids connected through stories, forming meaningful bonds as they shared questions and reflections. The way the older students gently helped the little ones explore the world of stories, all while listening to their thoughts and feelings, was a sweet reminder of the power of these relationships. At the end of the event, the older students proudly held the hands of younger kids as they walked them back to their classrooms, reinforcing the sense of community and care.

These activities don’t just create a friendly and fun vibe between the houses—they also help the older students feel more responsible as they support their younger peers. By the end of the day, our school community feels stronger and more connected, where everyone, from the oldest to the youngest, learns to care for and look out for each other, making Lancaster a special place.
