This past week, our Grade One students embarked on an incredible three-day adventure at Explora Camp in Las Estacas. From the moment we arrived, excitement filled the air as the children eagerly explored their sleeping quarters and the wonders of nature.
The highlight for many was the beautiful crystal-clear river, where the children swam, paddled in canoes, and even bravely leaped from a platform into the refreshing water! They also enjoyed a water rally in the children’s shallow pool equipped with monkey bars, bridges and all sorts of obstacles. As they splashed through the water rally pool, they built confidence and learnt about teamwork along the way.
On land, our young explorers took on the rock-climbing wall, testing their strength and determination as they reached new heights. They also had the chance to bake delicious biscuits, learning patience and creativity in the kitchen. A visit to the horticulture area taught them about the importance of plants and composting, inspiring a deeper appreciation for nature.
And as far as night-time activities, we were able to meet a bat and see a raccoon hunting for food remains. We can’t forget Disco night where the dancing skills of some of our children shone and impressed us.
It was truly a magical experience, filled with adventure, learning, and lifelong memories. A huge thank you to the wonderful camp staff for making this trip so special!
