Last Thursday, September 25th, we celebrated our “Get to know buddies” house event and it was a special one! The focus of the activity was kindness and building meaningful connections with our buddies.
We began by reflecting on what it means to be kind. To inspire our thoughts, we watched this wonderful video: “Color your world with kindness”. This opened the door for wonderful conversations about showing kindness not only to our friends, but to everyone around us and in this case, especially to our new buddies.
Then came the most exciting part: meeting our buddies! Each student was paired up (or grouped) with their buddy/buddies and worked together on a fun, creative activity, making sock puppets. It was heartwarming to see the joy on their faces as they got to know each other. Younger students were curious and full of excitement, while older students showed patience and care, helping their buddies bring their puppets to life. The teamwork, laughter, and kindness that filled the classrooms made the activity very special.
We think this is only the beginning of a wonderful school year, where buddies will continue to support and team up with each other throughout every house event.
To capture these beautiful moments, we’ve put together a PHOTO FOLDER from the day. We invite you to take a look and enjoy!
