It’s been an awesome time here at school as our young and curious learners dive into the exciting world of rules and laws. We are embracing our Unit of Inquiry and it’s fantastic to see how our students are blossoming into minded thinkers!
Our Grade 2 students have been super engaged, asking questions and developing their understanding of how rules and laws shape our world. They are getting to the heart of big ideas like “What are rules and laws?, What defines our rights and responsibilities?, and How do our choices affect the world around us?”.
We’ve been exploring these concepts through fun activities, discussions, and even some games. It’s amazing to see how our students are growing as good learners, showing off their IB learner profile attributes such as being knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, and caring individuals in the process.
Fun Facts Around the World!
To give you a hint and show how fascinating the topic of rules can be, here are some crazy rules from around the world that we’ve discovered:
In England, It’s illegal to hold salmon under suspicious circumstances
In Georgia, United States,It’s illegal to let your chickens cross the road
In Turin, Italy, You must walk your dog at least three times a day
In Scotland, You must let anyone use your toilet if they ask
As we connect with these crazy rules, we learn how they shape communities and bring out the importance of being thoughtful and responsible citizens.
Their journey of inquiry has been filled with joy, creativity, and lots of questions. A big thank you to all the parents and guardians for your continuous support and involvement in our learning journey.
